This is a place for busy people who want to get to the core of health and wellness with information about the latest health advances and trends. Health and wellbeing are often personal and subjective to perception – while one might classify mental health at the top of their list, another might say that clean eating and nutrients is what they focus on. In this series we talk with and learn from inspiring leaders from all walks of life, touching on important topics that will help answer some of the key questions about natural health, wellbeing, fitness and all things direct from the source. Steph Dowse is a counsellor and therapist with more than 25 years of experience in areas of mental health (psychiatry), trauma, addictions, sexuality, adoption, family therapy, couples counselling, workplace burnout and relationships, critical incident debriefing and adolescent struggles. She is known for her work as a relationship expert on New Zealand's Married at First Sight and is an avid believer that a person's ability to live in the present, rather than the past or future, is the key to a harmonious life.
When not at work, she loves hiking in the bush, cooking healthy food and finding new ways to lie on the couch without spilling a cup of tea.
Things we talk about:
- Relationships and why they are so complicated
- Some of the most common myths about what a "great" relationship "should" look like
- Monogamy vs polyamory? Does or can it work in the long-term, or is it a call for help from relationships that have run their course
- Is there such a thing as "the right people at the wrong time"
- Navigating the dating world and how to find a "good catch"
